This course aims to provide participants with an understanding of sexuality and relationships for people with disabilities in Australia. It emphasises the importance of sexual health, personal relationships, and the rights of individuals with disabilities to express their sexuality. Participants will gain knowledge about the challenges faced by people with disabilities regarding sexuality and relationships, as well as practical skills to support them in this aspect of their lives. Course Objectives By the end of this course, participants will: • Understand the concepts of sexuality and relationships, particularly for people with disabilities. • Recognise the rights of individuals with disabilities regarding sexuality and relationships. • Identify common challenges faced by people with disabilities in expressing their sexuality. • Develop skills to promote healthy relationships and sexual health education. • Understand the role of support workers and caregivers in facilitating discussions around sexuality. • Explore resources and strategies to support individuals with disabilities in their sexual health and relationships.
